Hey Ladies,
At the last coffee morning we tentatively set a date for the next one on the 11th July. We didn't want to leave it so long between them this time. We thought about maybe having it somewhere between Northside and Southside - maybe somewhere along the Gateway Motorway which would be easily accessible??? Any suggestions? Most schools are back but my kids will still be on holidays, so somewhere the kids can go too is preferable. McDonalds has worked well so far, but other suggestions more than welcome. Lets get this organised ASAP as it's not too far away.

SaucyKath replied:
Wednesday's are such a bugger for me. Any chance we could make it a Thursday instead? Perhaps, Thurs., 19th July? I'd love to meet up with you all again.
ExMember148 replied:
Wonder if there is any chance this could be slightly combined with info re: partyplans expo??
SaucyKath replied:
Sounds perfect!
Zammy replied:
Good plan Julie!
I know I gotta get me some cheesecake this time round, wherever and whenever it is
ExMember148 replied:
I think this post calls for an input from Mrs PP - hehe
candlekaren replied:
I'm actually away at our PartyLite conference in Melbourne on the 19th, and working on the 12th. What about the following Thursday - the 26th July?
Karen
hotfrangipani replied:
Hello everyone!
Looks like a good plan to combine the morning coffee get-together with the first Brisbane expo meeting!
As it has already been proposed to have it on the Southside of Brisbane...that's fine with me! We all should look at a suitable coffee spot, I am more familiar with North Brisbane so suggestions are welcome!
With regards to a day and date...Karen has suggested Thursday 26th July and that sounds good to me! How is this for everyone else?
Let me know...
Cheers,
Tanya
Janine replied:
Count me ladies - the 27th sounds fine.
Zammy replied:
Thursday 26th sounds brilliant.
I thought it was north side turn this time though? How about the BP/roadhouse at (i think!) it's Hendra, just over the gateway, it has Macca's etc and the wonderful Wild Bean cafe, and there's an outdoor play area for the kiddies.
Just an idea :)
jenlerose replied:
I too thought we had decided it was the Northsides turn and agreed on the service centre at Banyo/Hendra Thursday the 26th is fine with me. I'll be there! 10 am as usual?
scentedcandlelady replied:
Sounds great I'll be there.. already pencilled in... only thing is which BP.....Banyo turnoff or Hendra Turnoff.... sorry ...
Cheers
ExMember148 replied:
26th is a great date. However, is the roadhouse going to be the most suitable to have a 'round' table discussion of all plans? It is very open, lots of tables everywhere, toilets a mile from the playground. The playground is outside blah blah blah. Just my observations (yes, I am a McDonalds junkie too)
Is there somewhere more 'meeting' friendly ? I know, its hard to combine meetings/little ones. However, if this is going to be a 'serious' plannimng meeting maybe a different venue with more suitable facilities. Moveable tables and chairs, so we are not so spread out like Kallangur was and we can set up in our own little formation. Toilets easily accessible for mums with littlies so they don't have to trapse all around the place.
Re: McDonalds : Here is a list of northside Maccas and their facilities that I am aware off, I could be wrong.
Kallangur : been there
Bribie Islang : Just off the highway northside. Playarea, outdoor eating area.
Albany Creek : Playarea with outside eating area. No specific room
Bracken Ridge : Playarea, not sure about room/eating area, they just renovated.
Warner : A bit more inland, but has McCafe, room for meeting, movable table and chairs. Playground - accessible via room.
Aspley : Downstairs has rooms, upstairs has food, playground is upstairs. Toilets both up and downstairs.
Albion : from memory has room, and a Playground. Easily accessible for both sides of town, just off the Inner City Bypass.
Hungry Jacks Aspley : Outside play area with outside tables that are fixed and small. May have a room from memory.
Any other suggestions I am sure would be welcome (it doesn't have to be a macca's)
jenlerose replied:
Geez, Julie - you do know your Maccas don't you! lol , I agree - it is very open there and very noisy. Maccas Kallangur was great! Our own room with a toilet etc. None of the others have a toilet in their party rooms! And it was private. I vote Kallangur! But of course I will travel to wherever the majority vote.. What does everyone else think?
Jen
ExMember148 replied:
Oh Jen !! Did you not notice the size of my #*@% !!! It has quarter pounder written all over it!!
If we go to Kallangur, I am happy to ring and make the booking. And we can just ask if we can take a few loose chairs in as well, just to make it a bit more informal, so we don't just have to sit at those 4 set seats!!!
I just made a phone call to Albion, just thinking it may be more central for the southsiders?? (just off the inner city bypass) Don't know, speak up!!! Albion - playground is accessible, tables and chairs are loose so you can set up how you like but no toilets in the room, but they are very handy.
Zammy replied:
Just thought I should check my diary and it seems I'm going to be working during the days the last 2 weeks of July, so unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make this one again girls :(
Bummer! I really want to be involved in the expo planning, any chance of bringing it forward again since we're changing from a wednesday, maybe thursday the 12th??
I'm happy to go to Kallangur again if that's where everyone else wants to go :)
scentedcandlelady replied:
Hi I don't mind where as it's a school day..
I do know that Mcdonalds at stafford has a room overlooking the playground... if that helps..
its on Stafford rd just next to stafford shopping centre..
Julie
candlekaren replied:
I think you just need to pick somewhere Tanya and let us know!!
Karen
ExMember148 replied:
I agree Karen.
I would like to see one a little bit further in, for people coming from the southside however. Kallangur is a bit of a trek and also I don't think the chairs are conducive to a meeting atmosphere.
hotfrangipani replied:
Ok....I'll look for a location closer to the city...
and then get back to you with details....
...Cheers!
jenlerose replied:
I just thought of one we haven't mentioned - Maccas at Newmarket Rd, Alderley. It has a party room - nice seats( I believe) and is easily accessed from the freeway from the southside. Just an idea??
hotfrangipani replied:
Ok... How is everyone with meeting at Mc Donalds Stafford?
10.00am, Thursday 26th July?
I need numbers of who is definately attending... cheers ladies!
ExMember148 replied:
Ooohh, haven't been to Stafford for YEARS.
Are you going to 'book' their room for us partyplanners to 'play' in Tanya?? hehehe - make sure you tell them LOTS of cheesecake - Do they have a McCafe??
jenlerose replied:
Thats great for me! I'll be there!
There is no party room there though and playground has no seating? Sorry Tanya, just thinking of those with little ones, - which of course I won't have with me, so thats cool with me. But how many are bringing littlies? Hows that for you?
Yes, they have a Mc Cafe there, Julie. Just no room - I was there the other day
hotfrangipani replied:
I thought I knew Brisbane well but it's changed so much!
ok so it's a McCafe..... I thought this location should be ok for our first meeting but no party room? hmmm....
How about Toombul Shopping centre? Althoug there is no party room ..the playground is outdoors with seating so maybe we could all sit out there? How many have kids?
Help!
Tanya
ExMember148 replied:
@ Jen - yes I do love my McCafe!! I think I am up to my 'free' hot chocolate too, and today is definitely a hot chocolate kind of day!!!
What about Albion - its nice and central to the city ??? I don't really care, as long as they have hot chocolate ...... with extra froth.
And Tanya, don't worry about knowing Brisbane, it changes from day to day.........even living here is difficult sometimes.
hotfrangipani replied:
Once I come to Brissy for this meeting...I want to drive around to find some good possible locations for further coffee's and cakes!
This first meeting is more to "get to know each other" so Im not tooo worried where it is. I admit McCafes are nicer for morning tea's and the fact people are bringing kids....it does make a great place to catch up.
I used to live in Northgate about 6 years ago....so yes...everything has changed so much! Nothing is what I remeber so without being there to look...I struggle to find the best place to go!
jenlerose replied:
Well, There is no Mc Cafe at Toombul....so what will we do for coffee and cake?? Albions good, is there a room there? or like I said in a previous post - Alderley- it has a party room and a McCafe. And yes, I'm with you, Julie I know my Mc Cafes - there the only Maccas I take the kids to....
ExMember148 replied:
What area in Northgate??? We lived there about then too!!! Small world!!
The cannery has a coffee shop now as well, with a children's play area available. See, now you got me thinking!!
jenlerose replied:
Do they have coffee at the cannery or do we have to have pineapple juice? Hehe.
ExMember148 replied:
Jen - come to chat room.
Albion is nice and central I think.Yes playroom, yes mcCafe!!!!
Toombul is central, but no mcCafe, but hot donuts!! hehe, but the playground is outside.
sparklingvoodoo replied:
So Here We are!!
McDonalds Albion?
10am Thursday 26th July?
How many are attending???
ExMember148 replied:
I think Albion is a good choice, it is very CONDUCIVE to a meeting!!!
jenlerose replied:
I too think it will be very CONDUCIVE there, Julie. I'll be there - for sure!

Have a great time and eat some cake for me!
I'd love to be kept in the loop though!
ExMember148 replied:
That's the closest I could get to putting my hand up!!
Location aka Albion Fiveways.
Tanya - will you ring and book the room ?? Tell them to have lots of cake!!!
Lilygirl_wytch replied:
sounds like fun... see you there!
Lilygirl
scentedcandlelady replied:
Hi I'll be there but I'll becoming straight from Physio.. so please excuse the daggies....
I did have another thought.. I live off rode rd at chermside near Rode rd.. have a huge deck ...
and brilliant play area for kids, sandpit, cubby, swings, trampoline, if you want... and yes.. I do do coffee.. just a suggestion... Albion sounds good though...
Julie
ExMember148 replied:
Well, lets put Julie's hand up for the next Brisbane EXPO meeting. As I am sure this one will be more informal and a get to know you. And the next meeting will be more nuts and bolts, and a private venue will be heaps more CONDUCIVE to that I am sure!! Anybody second the motion ??
Hel replied:
I second the motion for having the next meeting at Julie's!! I would love to come to this meeting on the 26th - I dont know where Macca's at Albion is though so Jen can I hitch a ride with you?? For all those that are attending the trade night, feel free to hold off sending your money and you can give it to me then!
jenlerose replied:
I'm not so sure if thats what Julie meant, Hel...lol. It may not be conducive enough to hold it there..haha.
Albion Maccas is at Albion,Hel- you can hitch a ride with me if you like I'll let you. Anyone else on the Northside who may need a lift - let me know, I'd be happy to help you if I can.
Jen
scentedcandlelady replied:
Hi everyone, Yes it is what I meant.. I don't mind everyone popping over for the next coffee morning...Kids can play, we can talk and not worry about how many coffees we are buying..
Its fine by me.. See you at Albion..
I can also help from the northside with a lift.. i'll be coming over from either chermside west or Ferny Grove depending on my physio schedule.. thanks and take care
have a great day...

ExMember148 replied:
And I am looking a bit dodgy again, grrr. I may be able to make it for an hour, but I have a man coming to install a new eftpos facility, that hopefully will save me stacks!!! oh , maybe I should share what I have found.
scentedcandlelady replied:
I am really sorry I will have to be counted out.. I have a friend who's dad has just been diagnosed with whoopping cough and all of us who have been in contact have to get tested and avoid people until we know the results..
Please plan the next one for my house... a thursday morning is great with me.
sorry.. will try and phone someone too to say what is going on...
Julie
ExMember148 replied:
oh dear, what a worrying time for you julie. good luck with all the tests, icky!!
partyplans replied:
hmm...
Sick people are not allowed to attend! LOL (wishing you all better health!)
Tanya (hotfrangipani) tried to book the room, but apparently it cannot be 'reserved' for such events.
Should be OK they say as no kids parties are booked.
scentedcandlelady replied:
Thank you all.. even though I am not sick... I would hate to find I am carrying it to anyone.
have a great time. I have spoken with candlekaren this evening.. so take care and all the best
Julie
sparklingvoodoo replied:
I too have sick kids. So I will have to get all the info from someone else who attends. I am sooo sorry but the last thing you all need there is a sick crying baby. I hope all goes well and I look forward to coming to the next meeting.
ExMember148 replied:
Well, I made it , if only for a short while. However, it was VERY productive in that time alone so I can only imagine what more was discussed.
You ALL were duly missed. We were like oh where's so and so and so and so.
So, hopefully everyone will be back fit and fighting for the next meeting.
Oh and WONDERFUL Mrs PP spoilt us rotten!!!! Thankyou Tanya
SaucyKath replied:
Glad it went well without me. Maybe we should hold the next one at the local Medical centre so - probably get a better attendance record then!
hotfrangipani replied:
Today's meeting was fantastic! Everyone enjoyed themselves and it was very productive despite being tempted with lovely coffee's, hot chocolates and sweets!
Congratulations to Jenny, Julie and Kylie....they won the lucky door prizes! A nice Tri Nature pack for each!
I look forward to catching up again soon!
Cheers,
Tanya
candlekaren replied:
Yes I agree it was fantastic and very exciting to be involved!! The Mud Muffin that Julie MADE me have was pretty good too (hehehe!!) Looking forward to the next one - well done Tanya!
Karen
jenlerose replied:
Yes, it was a great day. Thank you Tanya for the tri- nature gift and all of the other goodies (especially the chocies) and to Karen for the beautiful candles and also Kylie, Shannon and Julie for such wonderful company - it was fun! Can't wait till our next even more productive meeting.......
scentedcandlelady replied:
so sorry i couldn't attend...
sounds like you all had fun.. did you have a scribe or would someone email me what happened please...
thank you
Hel replied:
I am glad to hear that the morning went well. I am so sorry I couldnt come along after all but as Jenny probably told you, my Mum was having tests done at the hospital that day and I had to be with her. She has the all clear for nother 6 months so that is great news! When is our next morning tea, has a date been set yet?
richaky replied:
Hi all,
Just wanted to say I had a great time at the meeting!!!! You are all sooooo much fun, (and thanks for the little pressies I loved them, I need more Tri Nature stuff it's fantastic)!!! Anyhoo just wanted to say THANKS!!!
Keep smiling!!
jenlerose replied:
So girls, whens our next Brisbane Coffee morning? Any suggestions? Northside/Southside? Anyone interested?
Jenny
jenlerose replied:
Guess no one is interested in having a coffee morning anymore. I just thought that not everyone is on the expo committee, therefore would like to get together for an informal coffee and cake at a Maccas somewhere????
Any takers????Any suggestions??? How bout any of you newbie PPs in Brissy???
Just starting the ball rolling on this one
ExMember148 replied:
For sure, I am always up for a good hot chocolate and cake.......just tell me when and where!!!
Hel replied:
I would be in for it too - can we organise a date and place??
jenlerose replied:
Okay then, what about Maccas Alderley or Mt Gravatt -Thursday, 30th August or Thursday, 6th September? 10.00am. If there are no kids coming, we could always go to a coffee club or something similar.
Post your thoughts.......when, what, how or even why?
Hel replied:
Sounds good Jen! I bags a ride with you. Would the 30th be too soon ?? Either date works for me. What does everyone else think?
I wont have any kids that day so anywhere suits me, Coffee Club does sound good. Everyone else post your thoughts and let us know if you will have kids on either of the dates Jen mentioned - let us know what date suits you best too.
Janine replied:
Sounds Good!! I am finding out about a Story Felt school booking this week as those were the dates being discussed today in a phone call. I am thinking morning would be fine for either day for me. If it is a Thursday or Friday I will have no kids too. Is it South Sides turn?
SaucyKath replied:
Isn't it Northsides turn?
ExMember148 replied:
Sorry guys I am out of date for anything on 30th or 31st as I have my fundraising queen tiara on !!
But any time, any place and I won't have kids!!
Janine replied:
Was the last meeting a joint meeting with the expo planning? (this is how I took it). But either way - South or North - makes no difference to me where. If I am available I will come along.
jenlerose replied:
Ummm, yes, last meeting was really an expo meeting. The last PP coffee meet was at Mt Gravatt. So let's make it Thursday Sep 6 at 10am at Alderley Maccas if anyone is bringing kids. Coffee Club at Strathpine if not???? What do you think? Open for suggestions.........Who's coming?
Janine replied:
Sounds great. Fingers crossed for healthy kids so I can attend alone.
Hel replied:
I'll be there!
ExMember148 replied:
no kids for me - so strathpine is good
candlekaren replied:
I'll be there wherever it is. Just give me the address!! No kids for me either. Coffee Club sounds good as they have "healthy options"!!! Just started a 12 week challenge on the weekend so no more mud muffins for me!!
Karen
ExMember148 replied:
oh Karen, come on, just one won't hurt you
SaucyKath replied:
6th September at The Coffee Club, Strathpine sounds great for me

ExMember148 replied:
Thanks for having it at the coffee club, because when we were there, I threw my business card in the bowl thing and got an email this morning with a $10 voucher.
Did anyone else?

ExMember148 replied:
Yes!!! Any excuse to go again........................so what date was it Kath??
Janine replied:
Okay Ladies!!! Next coffee morning when and where as it is Southsides turn.
How does "Thurdsay the 25th of October" sound as this let's us get the kids back to school and the house back to normal after the holidays.
As for place McDonalds - Mt Gravat was fine at the last Southside get together but if we do not have kids with us we could try somewhere different or even try for a lunch get together. Any suggestions ladies??
There will be a sweet treat for each who attend. Bring along your catalogues and maybe even a show and tell product. Come along for a chat and coffee. More the merrier!!
ExMember148 replied:
Sounds like a fantastic idea!!
So sorry at this stage won't be able to attend, October is turning out to be a right off for me, I wonder if I have time to breathe. And the 25th is only a few days from Pink Ribbon Breakfast so I will be busy stuffing bags and baking!
Have Fun
