Hi everyone,

Some of you may be aware I'm studying  my final semester of uni which I had to defer when I was pregnant with Cameron.  I've had 2 exams in the last week and my last one tomorrow, but ................

MY MUNCHKIN WONT GO TO SLEEP!!!

He won't amuse himself, won't stop talking, wants to draw on my notes, just tipped a whole semester's worth of papers on the floor and if I try and put him to bed he (ok this might be TMI LOL) stinks his room out in protest (I'm not kidding!)

I'm going insane and just thought I'd share my exasperating day with you all LOL.  Anyone want to come to Cairns to babysit??????!?!?!?!?!??! One afternoon of study is all I've got left EVER and he won't let me do it

One very exasperated mummy with very little hair left!

Poor Lauren I feel your pain...

Don't stress, it's all worth it in the end. And when you have finished your exams you can look back and say I finished my studies while wroking PP and looking after my son.

It will be a great achievment!

You poor thing. I know what its like to want and do something but the kids wont let you. Its like they set out to get your undying attention when you really dont want it. Every time i sit down at the computer, Daniel starts to play up. He pulls things off my desk, wants to sit on my knee, then wants down, then wants up again............. the list goes on .  It really dose your head in. My thoughts are with you. Good luck with your exams though. Sorry i cant give you a solution to your problem. Im still trying to sort my little darling out.

Oh Lauren!  If I lived closer I'd be around in a FLASH!!!

Can I suggest you take him for a few walks around the block - and no not in the cruisy pram, but riding his little push along bike - or even walking holding your hand!  I KNOW how frustatingly slow these "outings" can be AND YES IT WILL PROBABLY END UP BEING JUST ONE LAP OF THE BLOCK - but perhaps this will wear him out so he will sleep and the fresh air just may make you both feel HEAPS better!

Its pretty amazing how wonderful a walk in the neighbourhood is like for a toddler - even leaves blowing around or dandelions are an amazing TREASURE TO FIND AND ENJOY!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, he's been asleep for over an hour now and so got right down to it!! A walk around the block would have been a great idea, but Cam doesn't walk yet (almost, not quite!) and his trike is actually a little push along steam shovel... I'm not pushing that around the block lol.  But definitely a suggestion I'll keep up my sleeve

SaucyKath replied:

Well we must look a site around our neighbourhood then!   Rhys and I often go for our "adventure" walks and as Rhys can't peddle his dinky trike yet I pull him along with a rope when he gets a little too "pooped"!!!   (and oops sorry for forgetting Cam can't walk yet, kinda lost touch since my little cherub/menace walked at 8months).
