For example, occasional hints like: All bids less than 5 are now not unique ?

..that way, people know they have to earn some more credits and make bids over 5

Just a thought. If you give out too many hints people might wait until the end of the game to do their bidding. Just playing devils advocate here.

The hints would not be too specific.

Eg: We may post: "All bids less than 5 are now not unique" when in fact all bids less than 10 or 20 are not unique either.

(By the way: These are all fake example hints!!... dont base you bidding on these yet)
