Hey there, I am a recent starter in the wonderful world of Party plan. I am interested to know why it is that within the Party plan industry there doesn't seem to be any longevity. Everybody that I speak to have only just started like myself or have only been going for at the most a couple of years. Is there an explaination for this?

I wonder if it is because a lot of us have finally realised how good it is and we are sticking with it... years ago there weren't as many companies.. you will probably find that there are some tupperware consultants who have been doing it for years. I kow that Partylite has only been going in Australia for only 5 years so maybe it is because bigger and better companies are coming out and people realise how good they all are..
take care and all the best

Hi Jean,
I have noticed that some people tend to do a particular pp at the time that the particular range is of use to them. Eg, some will join Tupperware to kit out ther entire pantry, and then move onto linen to fill the linen cupboard etc. Or maybe a makup pp and then jewellery.
Although pp can be a very profitable industry, for those that wish to make a career out of it, many people just join as a hobby or for a second job for a short time when they may need an injection of cash.
About 7 yrs ago I did Tupperware as a weekend job for 8 mths to save up for my wedding. My manager at the time had been selling it for 20 yrs, and earnt $70 grand a year!!! ( and as I said, that was 7 yrs ago)
For me back then, it was just bonus cash and I had a regular job I was happy to stick with. Now with two little ones at home, I have decided to start my own pp company as it suits my lifestyle perfectly.
It's a variable thing, and that's the beauty of it. It is whatever you want it to be .
Regards,
Andrea.

Hi Jean,
yes, yes, yes it can be all that.....and for me it is............
people start up party plan because they want financial freedom and freedom of time and hate having a boss. They soon realise it is very hard work, bookings are hard and then of course lose motivation and leave.
this happened to me personally 3 times. 4 times if you include the tattslotto mlm business i was in.
i was searching but nothing worked and this happens with the majority of people.
I am happy to say i have found a party plan that I totally love, is easy for me, and is paying me bonus cheques in the thousands and the commission rate is unbelievable.
the company has been around for over 20 years and very strong and I know that i will never lose my downline and that i will only get stronger and better.
i am truly on a high still after 15 months,.............

I have been with Crafty Kids for a little over two years, my Team Leader has been with them for about four years... however her Team Leader has been with CK for over ten years. Many of the CK Consultants have been around since the company started 12 years ago, and are still loving it and constantly recruiting new people to our wonderful plan.
I do think one of the reasons that we "meet" so many new comers to Party Pln when we first start is that we are looking for them. I know when I started I hit the internet looking for ideas that I could use and share with my team members, many longer term PPers already have that and don't come to places like forums for ideas. There are also sooooooooooooo many new party plans starting all the time, so of course their consultants are "new" at it.
The other issue is, how many have been in Party Plan for years, but as others have said have moved through different stages of life and therefore different Plans. Not a lot different to working in the 9 to 5 world really. Lots of people there change jobs every few years, others stay put for 20 years.
