Hi Everyone, Just thought I would come straight here to get help with choosing which search engine to put my business into. I am a little lost when it comes to computer things but I am really wanting to get my business Cheeky Chops kids Clothes ( I stock licenced kids clothing, Saucy Fish Jewellery, coming soon handcrafted gift items and my range of fairy wands called "The FairyWand Maker Range) and I am now offering what I call "Group Purchases" - it is run as a online party I guess with freebies for the organiser. Any help, views, ideas or engines that you guys that have businesses or web pages would be greatly appricated.

Hi Janine,

A good place to start is: http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

Type in your website and eventually google will index it.

Also.. make sure you add your site to the bottom of each post you make here. That way search engines will increase your listing rank.

eg: at the bottom of your forum posts add:

http://www.cheekychopskidsclothes.com

Thanks for the helpful info PartyPlans. I have listed earlier this morning with Google. Get idea about the web address too. All of this is new to me and I am trying to get my head around it all. So more ideas the better. Kath from Saucy can you ket me know about your search engine for your web page. You mention a while back about it but thought I might give it a go too.

Hi Janine,   I also really recommend Google.   I use the Google Adwords section for both my website and our fencing website and find that they generate quite a lot of enquiry.   Best part I like about it is that you can set upfront how much you want to spend and even per day how much is spent.   I generally just throw $50 onto my account whenever I can.

With the adwords it is all linked with the specific keywords that you set up in your account - eg   you could have children, kids, clothes, bargain, cheap, wiggles, dora, etc. etc.  and everytime someone searches for any of these words your site will come up.

Good luck, and let me know if I can help more;    Kath

Yes, adwords is good.

Be prepared to pay google about 30-40 cents per click.

Based on your keywords, google will display your ad in the google search results and on relevant participating sites.

For example, if you click the ads on the top and bottom of this page the advertisers have to pay google (who then gives us a percentage too!) for the 'click' .

Kath how have you gone with the paying by click system - e.g. party enquiries, sales etc..??
