Hi everyone.....I make my own beaded jewellery and I'm just starting to get back into the party plan scene. I want to produce a brochure for 2 reasons. The first one being if people enquire about the parties I want to be able to send them something and secondly I would like to have a smaller brochure for a letter box drop. So hears the question "If you received either of the above what would entice you to host a party". All suggestions will be taken into account.
Kind regards
Maria

Oh Maria, I make my own beaded jewellery too. I'd be so interested to see how things go. I asked a question regarding running parties with my own made stuff so would love to you put in your two cents worth. http://www.partyplan.com/forum/topic.php?tid=1944
As for brochures, I personally don't read junk mail so no help there. I think with hand made jewellery you need lots of good quality pictures. Must look professional not hand made so get them properly printed. Do you have a logo?

I personally love junk mail and read every bit to see what is new and happening in the area. But for a small affair such as yours, I don't think a letterbox drop will do you justice. You need to target a specific market. EG: Mums/staff at a local child care, the local medical centres etc.
As has been mentioned on here before, go check out www.vistaprint.com especially when you can get 100 postcards printed for free and postage is less than $9 - and these do look very professional and glossy. You are restricted because of the designs unless you want to upload your own (which costs more). BUT I don't think you should SHOW OFF all your wares in one hit. Just tempt your customers, give them a bit of bait. Make your postcards quite generic so you can order lots and use them over the time. Think outside of the square.

Hi Maria
From a customer's point of view, they are thinking "What's in it for me?"
If you want them to host a party you have to show them the benefits they will receive by hosting a party. I agree that you should only show a sample of your product to leave them wanting to see more.
Good luck, let us know how you go.

Hi everyone....thanks for your replies. I have made a "postcard" style card up myself. I have used a watermark of one of my necklaces for the background which has come up excellent. I have kept the info short and sweet explaining a little bit about the jewellery and also the minimum of what they will get when they host a party. I will be printing this on glossy photo paper. I am planning to have a party myself next month and I'm very positive that someone will book one and we can get the ball rolling so to speak. I will let you know how it all goes.
