Just wondering if we've seen any of our members on tv or in magazines?? Have you talked to the news, or told your story to a mag?

<-- that will be us when we realise we've seen you before lol!

I haven't been in a magazine, but have been on tv when I won a scholarship to a girls in maths and science summer school in 1999.  They cut out whatever I said but my face was right there!!

Also worked in production for awhile, and accidently got caught in a shot then too lol.

What about you?

Haha... please don't think I'm blowing my own trumpet ladies, but I've been in the media a few times back when I was a volunteer firefighter...

...for a while there I seemed to be the poster girl for the victorian volunteer firies (that might've had something to do with working for them in an office capacity also! ).  I'm even on the cover of a Department of Justice report in my gear (not really sure why! hehe). Fun stuff

This was on the front page of The Australian in 2003 (I think??) -- it was taken while we were trying to save a house near Sydney (which we did ultimately save, but we got trapped for a while in the process) and I was grabbing a quick blast of air from this bloke's breathing apparatus.  The scariest day of my life, and not one I'd like to see again!

...and this was another unrelated one in a Victorian paper:

...and last but not least, my 15 minutes of fame on every TV network -- after fighting the 2002 bushfires we received a thankyou ceremony in Melbourne... the streets were closed off for thousands of firefighters to march through the city... and I was in the front row (holding the hat).  I have an awesome photo of this framed at home, but sadly hubby was too far back to be visible!!

A rule of my town's fire station is that if you get on TV for the CFA, you owe them a slab of beer -- from that day onward I've owed my station seven slabs.... LOL!!

That's my 15 min over, back to some humble pie for me!  If anyone else has been in a large paper, try searching for your pics at newsphotos.com.au because most of them will be there :)

Thanks for the link I just found a handful of my hubby I forgot he was in the paper last year a few times lol.

Hee hee and I put in my maiden name and there was a hit - it wasn't me though lol I share my name with a well known painter apparently lol.

I'm off to see who else I know in the site lol.

Anyone else famous?

Hi,

I had an embarrassing interview on the news Anzac Day. Hubby dragged me out with the kids for the dawn service and then afterwards Powderfinger were playing on the beach (Currumbin on the Gold Coast) As the night before was restless with my 10 month old up a couple of times, my mind was not thinking, I was dagged up with yesterdays make up on and happened to be picked out of the crowd and interviewed by channel 10. To early in the morning to think straight so did not give the most intelligent interview but they still played it on the 11.00 morning news. I did not see it myself as I was out but got many phone calls off family and friends saying "I just saw you on the news!!" How embarrassing!!!

Also was in the paper and on the news a couple of years back now as I was in Bali the time of the bombings and needed to be evacuated home. That was a good day touching down on Aussie soil and the paper photographer was there during an emotional reunion with the fam.

Mrs PP (hotfrangipani) is a lil'bit famous!

She has been on several TV ads for lite'n'easy over the past few years.

(Best bit was the money + all expences paid accomodation and food for her and her husband for the days of filming!)

You have probably seen some of her ads during prime-time ladies TV. During the olympics, there was an ad of her doing hurdles, then there was an ad of her and others having fun on the beach.

We have it on DVD, but I never saw a live ad myself. Family and friends always called us and said "Oh my goodness, just saw Tanya on TV!" etc etc

Cheers,

Mr PP.

In 2000 I represented Lite'n Easy in a bunch of advertising.

So yes ladies and gentleman...I have been on TV !  Firstly, I was in a few commercials.  I did a solo promotional one for the Sydney olympics...jumping hurdles.

Later on...I was in a swimsuit on the beach at the Gold Coast doing the bum dance!  LOL

I also was in a photo shoot at Bribie Island in my swimsuit and sarong..... I was soooooo embarrassed as I had this huge crowd watching me strutting my stuff for magazines!  I was great that they included some shots of the whole family as well!

Yea...I had my experience of fame!

I have a famous sailing brother...

But me I have only been in the paper when I proposed to my now husband and made front page of the sunshine coast newspaper.  Also was interviewed on the radio station up there.  I proposed to him in a penthouse with balloons on a leap year valentines day.

I forgot I was in the paper when I was about 16 and awarded the BP (Baden-Powell) Award when I was a Ranger Guide.  It's the highest award for Guides in that age group possible.

I also forgot that my mother in law is on the front cover of the telephone directory in her local area this year...
