Hi,
I'm only new here and I wasn't sure where to post this topic.

My daughter is 5 months old and I'm supposed to be going back to work in July. However I really don't want to. Its not that I don't want to work, I just don't want to be away from my daughter. So hence the reason I found this site.

My other problem is I HATE being in front of people, but I'm really wanting to find a job that I can work around my daughter.

Any advice of how to overcome that fear or any Party plans that don't require you to be up the front of people?

Thanks
Honey x

Hi Honey84,

I know exactly where you are coming from as i was faced with the exact same dilema - i have an 8mth old son and i was meant to go back to work in March but i havent as i couldnt leave him and didnt want him getting some sub human care at a day care centre where he would be just a number. So i became a Saucy Fish Jewellery Consultant. It is honestly the best decision i have ever made.

I have sent you a pm telling you more and look forward to hearing from you as i think i can really help you out here.

Kind regards

Snazza

Hi Honey84,

There are a lot of mums here on Party Plans who have been in the same situation as you. Add me to the list except I went back to work last year part time and decided it was not worth it to go to it after beening very ill. I too have found Saucy Fish but also Story Felt which are both fantastic party plan companies. Now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel while taking my 6yr old to school and having and having my 3yr old beside me in my care. It is can be hard to over come the whole party plan style selling but if you are like many of us once you have done one party you will never look back and want more!!!

I look forward to hearing from you in posts and in the chatroom.

Cheers

Janine

Hi Girls,
Thank-you so much for your replies.
I'll go check out your PM's now too.

I'm just so unsure about talking in front of people. I almost did tupperware, but just couldn't speak in front of people.

And I just don't want to spend heaps on a start up fee and then find I just can't do it.

Anyway, thanks again for replying and I'll check out those PMs.

Hi Honey,
I know how you feel about talking in front of people! I felt just the same way when I first started. But my manager made me up a folder with everything in it that I needed to say at my parties with visual aides on the backs of the pages, and after 15 months with UnderCover Wear, I'm feeling so confident, I'm actually recruiting and I'll be starting a team of my own!
I'm sure if you decide to join a party plan (and please think seriously about it, it's great for mums, I'm one too!) that if you talk to the person you're joining under, they'll be able to help you through you fears, and how great will it be when you can say you've conquered them!
Good luck, and if you're thinking about a ladies clothing and lingerie company, PM me and we can chat!

Welcome Honey,

I am also a mum of two. I went back to work part time after my 1st boy, but decided after #2 that it was just to much. I wanted towork from home so i could watch my boys grow up. pp was my saviour. I sell toys and they are great. My kids love playing with my kit.I was a bit worried about speaking in frount of people, and so i had check cards that i could hold in my hand, and could read them until my confidence grew. Now i have no real problems.

If you want any info on my pp, just pm me and ill seen it to you. Good luck.

Patricia.

Hi Honey,

I too am a mum and didnt want to go back to work!

At the moment our company - Le Reve has what we call our business in a box promotion. No parties are required and you begin earning money straight away. If you decided after a while that you would like to do a party or 2 thats cool too. I'll pm you a copy of a flyer regarding this promotion. If you would like any further info please let me know.

Hi Honey,

I hear where you are coming from. I didn't want to go back to work after having my son either. I went back part-time and became a consultant for Partylite. It's the best decision that I made.

The one piece of advice I wanted to give you was to make sure if you do decide on a PP to pick one that you are comfortable with. What I mean is to choose one whose products you love. You have to have a passion for the products that you are selling, people will pick up on your enthusiasm and passion for the product. There's no point trying to sell a product that you yourself would not buy. It is also helpful to check that the company is a member of the DSAA.

Good luck with your search, sounds like you have had lots of advice to help you make the right choice for YOU. If you would like to know more about Partylite don't hesitate to contact me.

Cheers

Well said Joan!! Choose from the heart when you choose a Party Plan - it will do more for you than anything else when people see you love the product. There are also plenty of companies out there where you don't have to invest any money, so if you find you can't continue you haven't lost out.

As far as speaking in public, I always take my new girls out on as many parties as they need to to ease them in to it. They can talk as little or as much as they want at each one, until they are comfortable. I'm also happy to go to their first shows with them too if they want me too for back up. Just make sure after you choose a company, that you choose to join under someone who is going to give you the support you need. Good luck with your decision!! I can tell you that joining a PP is a fabulous move when you are a mother - I bet most of the people here have been right where you are now!! So don't feel alone - we are here to help!!

Hi Honey

The more you practice the easier it becomes...talking in front of a group of people can be quite daunting...and we have all had those first few show jitters..l am sure...but with confidence in your product...and practice making perfect you can alleviate this fear..
Look for a party plan that does only a short presentation..where the product really sells itself...that does make it easier...
Good luck with this..;l am sure you will be successful .....and overcome your fears..
l have also pm'd you....
Take car..

Hi Honey

have a look at the training of whatever party plan you decide on - the better or more in depth the training the more comfortable you will feel. also the product is one that you will need to love or know is something you would buy. look at the market they cover? find a company and a manager you feel comfprtable with - as you will work closely with them at first when you start - you need a manager who will listen to your concerns and will work with you to help you over come your nevres - which we all have and if anyone says they never get nerves is not telling the truth. I know i still get nervous and i have over 13 years party plan experience. please pm me with any questions

Hi Honey,

Don't do parties, give out catalogues instead. Or get a couple of friends together and try a little practice run with them. I will pm you the products I sell and you can let me know what you think.
