I can tell you that all party planners go through this at some stage. I too know how frustrating it can be when family and friends do not support you. This time round with Saucy Fish and Story Felt I have not hit up all of my family and close friends but others I see like school mums, library mums, friends I have not seen much off. And guess what? I am having such a better response from them than I have had from family and close friends.

I am a firm beliver that you have to love what you sell and if your heart is not in the product then the bookings and sales do not follow. I do not know if this is a part of your outlook on the whole situation or not.

I also think that when you are selling a new range of products that people have not come across it can factor in to how people spend and book etc...Also if a company is not well known this also can slw the whole starting out thing very slowy.

I returned to work last year after doing party plan for 4yrs. Yes it was good to have that regular income but the crap I put up with and the fact of having to babysitting and also giving up Sundays with my family was not worth it. I feel very ill and could not return to work but I think even if I had of had the choice to continue I would not have. NOw that I am returning to party plan my whole family is so much more happier as I chose when I work and how often I work.

Sit back and have a think of what you really want out of life and how you can achieve this. Also think about the company you are with and if you really want to continue with them. Also ask for help from the person who recruited you as this too could make all of the difference to how you are thinking. Get the support of the company too.

I feel for you. I know you want to make it work and please do not give up.

 Party plan is fantastic, but only if you do not have to try really hard. no one can take a lot of knock backs. party plan is meant to be fun and if it is not, you need to re-evaluate.

It is an emotional game and sometimes when you get too many knockbacks it does affect you in a negative way.

For myself I am having a ball. Been doing it for 15 months and has been easy.

At the start I could not rely on my friends and family. My own sister has never had a show for me, neither have both my sister in laws and i remember my best friend coming to my open home. did not buy or book a show. never rely on family and friends. you have to get out of that circle.

guess what !  my best friend signed on the dotted line today after 15 months!!. she cannot believe how much my business has grown in bookings and recruiting and she want to follow!

Also not everyone makes it in my party plan either. It is not a sure fire thing. We have the vehicle and it is up to the individual how they drive it.

 Your success depends on how badly you want the dream and the passive income. It depends on what you radiate to other people, the enthusiam you show to your customers.

I remember i hosted a homewares party last year and the lady was like " dead". She quit after a few months. No wonder. Who would want to book a show with her. So unfriendly.

You have to have a lot of passion for your product and your party plan. you really do,. Passion is everything.

I noticed you are doing 2 party plans .

I know myself i could never devote my self 100% to 2 and I would not want to,.

maybe concentrate on just one . maybe this could make the difference.

I am starting to calm down a little bit. I guess I just found that party I did today really degrading. Now I am only 28, but the girls there were all around 18 - 20 and I just didn't feel like they even wanted me in the room. They were very clicky and kept talking about clubbing and drinking the whole time. I just didn't have anything in common with them, I'm married and have babies and haven't been clubbing for goodness knows how long (10 years?). So it was a bit stand offish (which I  hate, because I am such a people person and like talking to my guests at parties).

I do really like the products that I am selling. I love UCW and have been buying there clothes since I was old enough to have a job and as for wikidz well I love their clothes too and love dressing up my kiddies in the collection. It is just harder to get the word around about it, and i thought that doing expos etc would help in this regard but I always find with markets etc that the appreciation for the products is really taken into account by the onlookers (itykwim).

I really do like party plan, I love the flexibility of letting me work around my family etc,

I just really needed a chin up, so cheers to Janine and Marina for the replies.

With Miessence I have customers as the product is genuine - more importantly I believe in the actual product being Certified Organics especially for Skin Care -

However I do not have a recruit to speak so far that I can help along the way to an Organic Future, (Does that dissapoint me?) yeah for sure!!however it took my sponsor a year to help motivate me in to a more active phase - and it might take a little longer before somebody decides they wish to be apart of the Organic movement and choose me as their helper, though I really do believe it will happen. -

I also remind myself why I do this - and really I do it fo the big picture of the over -all Eg: Party plans, Parties, meeting new people etc, and again I really believe in Certified Organics which does make it all that much easier when things do not move as fast as I would like them to go. (One day I might be complaining I have too much too do!)

Though It all looks like everything is all good again,

and if you are thinking of a change there's plenty here to choose from

 Ok, I will share a little something with you, cause it breaks my heart to hear you are having a tuff time.  Have you tried a competition box?  I sometimes put these around at different places to get leads.  I offer a special prize, vamp it up with a glittery entry box and entry forms and Bingo!

Now not all of these entries will lead to parties, sometimes they just want a one on one viewing, but that's fine, you can turn this around to invite them to a Launch at your house, and save your petrol.

I hear what you are all saying. I am also in a bit of a slump with my pp. I have had 1 party all month and that was at the start of the month. I did a bit of a ring around to thouse who hosted and attended the parties in the month of Feb and March, and found that no-one was willing to book a party with me for next month. very upsetting!!!!! But i have picked up my bottom lip of the ground, so i dont trip over it, and have decided that i need to find new people to do parties with. Im going to be more productive, and really try and get my face out their. Starting tommorow. So dont give up. there is always a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. sometimes it takes longer to get there, that is all.

I know it's hard being a consultant, try being me. I own and run my own company. I am the consultant for my own business. I have just started to doing parties and yes like everyone else you get cancelations, although you try and rebook the party again and can be quite successful if the customer to be is really interested. I don't have anyone working for me yet and would love to have some consultants. Of course I don't promise big bonus yet, but I will get there.

So you see, don't ever give up. It is hard, believe me I know, but love what you do and it will reward you. I make and sell natural skin care and body care that is simply beautiful and always looking for helpers who will be rewarded.

Hi All,

I have had similar reactions from my family and friends when I tried other pp and lost all hope and finished up just after I got started. I had no support, therefor no luck with my business.

I now have a new out look on things and with starting with Tri Nature I did not even approach my family or a lot of my friends as I new what reaction that I would get. What I have done which is working for me at the moment is advertise on free classifieds like www.allclassifieds.com.au. I think there would be something like this in your area if you have the time to go searching.

The response that I have had from this has been positive with a lot of enquires and a few orders. This gets me out of the circle that I was in and I am now not relying on family and friends anymore to make my business work.
