Discussions : Off your chest... : Spamming Websites

OK So I probably don't have the right "term" for this - but my gripe is when you're trying to view somebodies website for more information & products to purchase when you're inundated with stupid bl*&dy pop screens with YOU'VE WON offers and RINGTONES etc. etc. I'm pretty fortunate as my Pop-Up blocker works really well but today it was off for some reason (may have something to do with the Public Holiday and Mr 12 yo being online just before).
My point is how is anyone going to convey a professional website when the visitors just get bombarded with stupied pop-up screens showing half naked women & ludicrous competitions etc. etc. I have just been totally put off purchasing through this particular website with all of the popups I came across its made be realise that this company isn't as professional as I thought they were - and I'm now off to Google to search for another supplier.
Perhaps if people took their websites more seriously and offered a more userfriendly professional approach that would achieve more.

that's terrible, I know what you mean though, I can't get rid of a spam email I keep getting all about porn websites, and when you click on the remove from email list you get ten more emails, it's terrible. We have actually had to resort to changing email address's as a result of it.
thankfully our computer is seperate to the kids one and they don't have this problem.
