me too, I hate ringing people and asking for parties, but I have learnt that unless you want to hit the brick wall you have to bite the bullet and call people, I find it has helped if I don't ring them for a party, but just ring to see if there is anyting I can help them with, ( replacements etc ) and then I offer them the new brochure which I post or drop out to them.

then ring them a few day later to make sure they got it and check out if they would like to see anything in the new catalogue, take the item out to show them and then book them in for a demo in person, it works 90% of the time.

you customer will feel special as you have taken the time to show them what is new on a one to one basis and then they book because they want the discount.

hi this is marina. you bought some jewellery from me at a jewellery party last year.

I was not nervous at all. It was actually a game for me as I could not wait to hear peoples responses.

so far -- i am going overseas for 6 months, 3 months, indefintiely, on a holiday.  ( very common response)

i am sick, having an operation, moving houses,etc etc., my boyfriend will  not let me.

if you keep it fun it will be,  and always have a smile on your face when you are talking on the phone.

PS THE FRENCH PERFUME IS SOMETHING I ADDED IN MYSELF. IT COST ME $5 From Los Angeles.

anyway do not rely on getting your bookings this way. It is hard.! always get bookings from your shows and never let your bookings in your diary drop below a certain level. I have 20 shows at any given time.

thanks ladies, big help, I actually took the plunge last night for my undercover wear business and realised that.............god there are consultants everywhere, my most common answer was - `oh you know one of my friends has actually already booked a party from anothers persons party etc etc etc' guess thats what I get for not getting in first - oh well. try some more tomorrow.

but happy to say that i got a call from my manager last night with a party booking for me for wikidz as she had seen my discussion on another forum (baby) and decided that she would like to have a party. YIPPEE!

I may be able to help with that, cos At LE REVE we have a french perfume that we designed and sell for $6 at our parties of which $5 goes to help the BREAST CANCER NETWORK. I would love for you to buy it and give to your hostesses and create a win win vibe all around. and because your a "friend I will let you have them for $5.00 they come in a box of 6. so how about it ? :)
