Discussions : General discussion : Bookings in your diary

My aim is to book 3 shows at every party. one to replace the existing booking, and 2 to grow the business. It does not happen all the time, but my diary is booked for 2 months at any given time.
How did I get so many bookings? Fear
Fear of no bookings means I have no business and I will go down. When I go to a show I don't care about the sales. ( I never ever push the sales) they just happen. But it is the bookings that I concentrate on.
I am not pushy on the bookings at all, but I make it a point to explain the hostess benefits constantly and my favourite wording is " I am going to spoil you when you have a show with me"" I cannot wait to spoil you"
All your sales and recruits will come from the shows, but remember no bookings, no business.
Also double book all the time. You will get postponements, and then you have back up.
Have fun.

I never do shows on Saturdays as this is my "family day" however I ALWAYS book 2 or even 3 shows in on a Sunday. I used to ask what time they would like, and usually the response would be 2pm. This makes it reaaly hard to fit in other shows on the same day. I decided to do some "diary control" and it is amazing how hostesses just fit in to your diary. I offer them the times I have set, this way it makes them feel THEY are still making the decision.
By having multipal bookings on the one day will ensure you will still be doing at least one show on the day. I have never had both postpone. I have 2 or sometimes 3 shows booked into every Sunday (except the weekend I am going to Tahiti with PartyLite!) right through til July.
Hope this helps. This is good to suggest to newies if they have restriceted "party days", so at least they can still do 2 a week and they are only leaving the house for one day.

Great Idea Magnetic Star.............Have to remember that info too LOL

Cath, I wouldn't suggest booking 2 parties at the same time, just have twice the amount of parties booked into a week than you would like to hold, that way if there are postponements, you will still be working.
If they all hold, then you have a really big week and lots of commission to play with :)

We have a post in our [ExMember148] forum re Diary Dynamics. I also never have a problem with booking parties - always booked out. My few handy tips are (can't give em all away!!hehe) :
Personally I could never double book a date - my party's 99% of the time, never postpone !!! I have customers ringing me up to a week or more in advance just to double check they have the date. Or customers ring me on a Wednesday night for example to see if I happened to have got a cancellation for that weekend, as they have decided they want to have a girls weekend.

ROFL @ all us ............... Everyone must of been thinking Marina was super woman with split powers to be in two places at once. hahaha
I never get the chance to have a morning party, no one is thinking about my stuff then, hehehe, but I did have a hen's party last weekend @ 10am, so that was good.
I also do a 2 or 4 and then a 6 or 7 (and then have been known to do a 9 in the same suburb as well!!)

I am similar to Jacinta, but Sunday is my family day so I very rarely do parties then - unless it is special circumstances. I usually do two on a Saturday - afternoon and evening as morning is for kids sport. I have found a lot more people having week night parties recently too - usually get a good turnout too as most people don't have other things on during the week. This week I have parties Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Fri nights, Sat afternoon, and Starter shows for new consultants on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon! Plus I'm squeezing in the coffee morning on Wednesday!! I'll need a lot more than coffee by the end of the week I think!!

I know it sounds like an unsual topic to place here but............
A very wise woman once said to me the I should never leave a party without the 3 kids the car. You're probably wondering what on earth i mean! 1 being sales, 2 being the bookings - 2 or more, and 3 at least one sponsoring appointment. To get our hostess the best result from our rewards program I always make sure I get two bookings - it doubles her shopping!
Its very true that one booking replaces the party, 2 helps to grow your business but 3 or more and it explodes your business.
What is the highest number of bookings you have ever got from a party? By this I dont mean a business launch type event

Oh Karen and don't forget the CHEESECAKE!!
Zammy replied:
Damn you Julie!! I NEED cake now!!!!!
Also, my highest bookings ever was 5 from a bridal shower with 12 guests.
Kelly replied:
Well done! 5 is excellent if only we could havbe parties like that everyday! My highest is 6 at a regular party.
Ive also done a fundraising type party for a school and got 12 bookings on the day

Just another point regarding bookings - never let the host/hostess dictate when you're going to be working. When you ask a question make sure that you're asking a "this or that" question. Its harder to say a flat 'no' to and it forces them to think down the paths you'd like them too.
For example, don't say:
When would you like to book a party?
That invites a "nope, don't want to" answer for a start. And since its so unstructured, it is possible you'll get given a time when you are unwilling or unable to hold a party - and its not a good impression to have to say "no" to your potential host/hostess.
Instead, its much better to say something like:
Would you prefer a weekend or a weekday for your party?
Don't say:
What time suits you?
Say:
Do you prefer mornings or afternoons?
And to get down to the final time:
I can do 10am on saturday or 10m on sunday, which would be better for you?
That way the hostess always has a choice, but they are choices that you know are "doable" for you. :) And when confronted with a "this or that" question rather than a "yes or no" - you are far less likely to get a flat-out 'no'. :) Just a thought. :)
