Unsolicited emails

Discussions : General discussion : Unsolicited emails

CKCath wrote:

I have to say I am very unimpressed that I have received an email from another member of this site asking me to join their Party Plan company. I did not join here looking for a new plan, if I wanted more informatin about anyones plan I would have asked. I consider this to be unprofessional and in some groups woudl be classed as poaching.

My email address was not listed on this site so that I could receive junk emails, and that is what this was. Mail in my inbox that I did not ask for and did not want.

If anyone else is thinking about emailing me to ask me to join their PP....DON'T. I am not interested.

noone replied:

Fair enough Cath - I feel the same way... Happy where I am thank you!!

I was of the understanding that poaching is a no-no here too...

By logging into the forum you agree to the following rules as terms of use:

 Forum Rules

We do not have many "rules" except: Do not post advertising in any forum sections other than "Shameless advertising" Do not send unsolicited messages (Emails or Personal Messages) to other forum members in an attempt to recuit or sell products. If you receive any unsolicited messages relating to sales or recruiting please report them immediately to PartyPlans. If you are not happy with a post someone has made... Report it!

People using the forum to spam will be promptly banned.

Instead - post in the shamless advertising forum and if someone is interested they will contact you.

SaucyKath replied:

Well I do hope that the person that "annoyed" Cath with this poaching has been banned - and that they can't rejoin under another name.    That is not what this site is all about - if someone has to stoop that low to get themselves a new recruit, then they need to work more on their skills not annoy others through PM's or emails.

Janine replied:

Cath - I too was poached through a "pm" last week. I replied with a polite no thankyou but this is still not the point. If I wanted more info I too would have requested it. Until tonight I brushed it off as they were a newer member to the site but after thinking about how ticked off I was getting the pm in the first place I have reported it to Mr PartyPlans.

CKCath replied:

As I am new to the site myself, I don't know if this person is new or not.

I didn't want to make to big an issue of it, but I also replied stating that I was not interested.

There are lots of party plans out there, and it is a pity if people make the mistake of trying to push their plan into peoples faces... it gives us all a bad feeling.

I love hearing about and seeing other plans and products, but i want to ask for the contact, not have it initiated by others.

Lilygirl_wytch replied:

This is really wrong of others to take advantage like that! Perhaps this person doesn't know any better about how to recruit others and simply didn't think of the consequences.  I haven't received an email, and hope not too, but if I do I will be stating NO THANKS!.  If you're not happy with the PP that you're in, then it's up to you to change it, not by someone else on here trying to push you and take advantage of the whole idea of a chat forum

hi cath,

could you give us an idea of who it was so that we can steer clear??

anadesigns replied:

I totally agree with all of the above comments
THIS SITE is NOT to harass other members with "joining up" with there company etc etc NONE OF US should be recieving ANYTHING we do not want whether it is thru email OR any other form we are ALL equal on this site i feel & should respect one another

IF we do not ask for it WE SOULD NOT recieve it

I have been approached many times to join this or that or the next thing & it gets very annoying

So i say...............if some1 asks me to forward them info OK NO WORRIES I will do this but i dont send anything to anyone unless it has been asked of me to do so

This site is NOT for this kind of poaching & harassment anyone doing this should be banned
if you communicate with some1 beacuse they have asked for more info on joining etc etc ok reply give them info email them PM them etc whatever way they have asked you to forward them info BUT if they DO NOT then leave them alone

Sometimes I think people forget what this site is really all about
anyway this is just my two cents

I would prefer not to mention names. I hope that the person in question will choose not to do this again - then it is no longer an issue.

Zammy replied:

I have to say I'm curious as heck (about who's been sending these emails!), but I understand where you're coming from Cath and I'm sure the other person involved appreciates your Morals :)

cheryl replied:

I totally agree with all of the above comments. I too consider this to be totally unprofessional and I would hope that they have been issued with a stern warning.

Cath, thankyou for bringing this to PP attention as i am sure the last thing they need or want is this sort of happenings going on...

ExMember148 replied:

Wow, can't say I have had one of those emails either, but the cheeky things!! I only ever email or pm someone when asked - I thought that was the right thing to do - ask and ye shall receive!!!    Or if I want to enquire about something or other, then I will pm the relevant person.  I do believe in being passionate about your company and products but never to the extent of harrassing or sending unwaranted 'crap' to their email box.  Gosh knows, we all get enough of those 'crap' emails every other day don't we??

Janine replied:

I agree with Cath - I will not disclose the member who sent me a "pm" as I am hoping that the member will realise that what they have done is going against the forum rules. I do not know if it is the same person who has approached Cath but chances are high.

Hopefully by reading the posts here in this topic those who have done poaching now know that they need to stop ASAP.

mezz replied:

Hmm yes, I received an email like that. First it said, let me welcome you to PP and I thought oh ok ....nice.... and then said, please think about joining me.  I have just replied with a link to this thread. Hopefully they will take the hint.

Iit seems that my welcome email has caused a stir, which I am very apologetic about because when I reread what I wrote I realised that I copied, pasted from another email and I must say that I should have deleted the last couple of sentences which were not approriate for this occasion, So please accept my apology.

I have no intentions in poaching anyone, I am proud of the company I represent and passionate about party plan. so please accept my apology.

Sam

CKCath replied:

Thanks for the apology. I did not however plan on letting anyone know who had sent the email, as I hoped it would not happen again and I do beleive everyone is allowed to make mistakes.

Good luck with your business in the future.

samtayeh replied:

thank you for accepting my apology.... I didnt see the point of hiding from the fact that I stuffed up

and mmm glad to see that i am not the only one that stays up late :)

CKCath replied:

The best time to catch up the the "forum action" is when the rest of the family is in bed asleep. No interuptions then.

FM-Fragrances-Australia-World replied:

Have to agree with everything I have just read!

The outrage and the apoligy.

I would be a bit yuk if I was being poached by a PM or email, as I would not do it to others.

I feel it is also good to point out to people thinking of it

1. This Thread

2. The fact we can have our signitures stating our link for FREE

3. There is a Section called Shamless Advertising for FREE

4. There is a consultant directory for FREE

I am happy to know that any prospective possibilities have found me via these wonderful tools that Party plans allows us for FREE than to harrass or bombard somebody via their personal PM or email, which in turn could turn them off your product, and more importantly you as a person.

I am always saying how GOOD Network Marketing is and how wonderful it is we all help each other - It works in reverse too, I would rather a brilliant word of mouth than a horrible one...

mezz replied:

Twas big of you to make your apology public Sam. We all make mistakes at some point. Thanks for caring.

kathymollie replied:

Well Done Sam on your apology......you have to be commended for that............
Good luck with your party plan........
Cheers...Kathy
