I just had to vent AGAIN here...........so sorry if i ANNOY/OFFEND anyone....................
BUT I think it needs to be said sometime LOL so may as well be now LOL.....................

WHY is it that when you join a PP company everyone is ALL SOOOOOOOOOOO Nice to u then once they have that signature & u are all SIGNED SEALED & DELIVERED as such the people/person u sign up under JUST DOESNT GIVE A RAT'S BEHIND
about u!!!!!

HOW on earth are u supposed to PROMOTE / SELL a product etc etc
IF U HAVE NO SUPPORT I mean COME ON - It's getting beyond a joke

WHAT has happened to TEAM SPIRIT & TEAM SUPPORT...............is there such a thing anymore MAKES ME WONDER sometimes

WHAT can u do????????
Put up with it WING IT as some might say?????????
I DONT THINK U SHOULD HAVE TO "WING IT"
SUPPORT should be there..............TRAINING should be there.................
Along with COMMON SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHAT has happened to TRUST...........How did TRUST turn into DISHONESTY
Once again makes me wonder

I know it may sound like im going ON & ON & ON
BUT for goodness sake.................I have always wondered & hoped that the reasons i thought that party plan companies get such a BAD NAME wasnt true...................

WELL now i know for sure.................YES i know NOT EVERYONE is like this
BUT the pattern just seems to get longer & longer instead of shorter & shorter

It's no wonder people want to set up there own Party Plan Company............this way they can ASSURE anyone that signs up as part of there TEAM gets all the support they need when they need & doesnt have to go thru some BIG corporate office & get the run around

My biz partner & I have our OWN Party Plan company something we set it up from nothing................We got ourselves (over the years) involved in "signing up" thru "other" party plan companies so that we had ADDITIONAL Product lines to offer & now in the end it NEVER EVER EVER seems to get us anywhere........except a BAD NAME when that PP company has done something wrong etc etc etc.......................
([ExMember148] Julie I am making an EXCEPTION to what I have said just there JUST FOR U.......YOU really are a GEM with what u do for your TEAM & we LOVE YA for this)

So I would like to say to everyone out there IF ANYONE is out there that WANTS to start there OWN PP company & need some HELP to do it we are now branching out ALL our knowledge & experience & OFFERING it to ANYONE who needs it just simply email us or send us a PM to get an info pack sent to u

I apologise to anyone here who is offended by what i am saying.......................Im simply saying OUTLOUD what people are saying to us

We would like everyones thoughts............please share with us how u feel if you have EVER had a bad experience please let us know...................

If you TOO wanna have your OWN PP company please contact us
WE CAN HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I could keep going on how frustrated this has made us feel BUT i will stop here for now LOL

Cheers
Nat & Bec

ExMember148 replied:

Well girls, you know where I stand on that issue. I didn't know this was boiling so deep..........mmmmm.......be on to you both soon.

There is no I in TEAM!!!  It's about all getting in together.

Also, you know how I don't do the multi-level thing - been bitten enough times myself.  My company - if it fails it fails due to me, if it succeeds it succeeds because I made it succeed.

I won't say too much more, cause I don't want to offend anyone - each to their own opinion, and I respect that too.

But as my saying goes :

Be in business for yourself NOT by yourself!!

FM-Fragrances-Australia-World replied:

Hey Nat,

Someone really must have dissapointed you, and for the feeling you have I'm feeling for you.

I don't have the experience yet to talk about team members as I don't have any yet - I would also hope that customers and potential customers/reps have seen what I put into looking after people before any coin or membership has exchanged hands - and would know by actions and not just talk that I would follow thru all the time, and thensome.

No offence taken from me - I know what you are talking about.

Richard

anadesigns replied:

Better look out Bec - [ExMember148] is gunna get us be on to us soon PMPL

You are so spot on with what u say Julie.............................There is now "I" in TEAM.

We are just VERY PASSIONATE about this sort of thing....................SORRY IF WE
OFFEND ANYONE but we are simply saying out loud what people have said to us so im voicing our opinion as well as speaking on behalf of others we know!!!!!!!!!!!

anadesigns replied:

Thanks for ya comments Richard

Zammy replied:

aww hon!
I'm so sorry to hear that you've had such bad experiences!
I'm afraid you've just hit some really lousey people.
My manager (and in fact region!) is so increidbly supportive and I feel blessed by all the help, support and guidance I receive in my business.
Just think, this experience is going to make you a much stronger person and manager as you'll never allow this to happen to the folks who join your company :)
Take heart, not all party plan managers are horrible!

marina replied:

HI,

I have a massive responsibility as I have a large team under me.

Everytime I join someone they go on a 6 week mentoring programme.  If after 6 weeks they are still struggling I will work with them for another 6 weeks and so on.

If after 6 weeks they are ok we then keep in touch once a month at our meetings or by phone. I tend to use the email alot as well to keep in touch etc.

The girls that are struggling with bookings I will take them out for a day and go door knocking to various factories where office girls work and sell the jewellery and get bookings. It does work.!

We have training every 6 weeks to update our skills and knowledge, we have a booking club course. We had one last year and doing another one this year.

We give out incentives and gifts to motivate the team.

Not everyone will succeed in party plan and it did bother me for a while, but I have learnt that you cannot be responsible for someone elses failure.

You can give the tools, but it is still up to the individual to work the business.

cheers

marina

Zammy replied:

Good on you Marina!
Sounds like you really take the time to help out your girls and get them on the right path from the word go :)

anadesigns replied:

Marina...............thats FANTASTIC what u do for ya TEAM
WELL DONE...............Nice to hear some GOOD stories relating to PP Companies
Congrats  another exception to the rule
p.s looking forward to meeting u at jaes's party too

marina replied:

Also another thing I forgot.

Everytime a new person has their first party we will go with them to  show them the ropes. Sometimes even 3 times depending on the person.

I will also take them to my parties if they want to see how I do them.

My 2nd line have members in Adelaide and they will fly down for their first show.

It is really important for everyone to do it, I think.

cheers

Marina

anadesigns replied:

Your girls on ya TEAM must love ya with all the support u give them
WELL DONE............................I totally agree with u very important

ExMember148 replied:

OH Bec and Nat - You wish I would get on to ya - with my cat o nine tails, hehehehe

The support you do/or don't get when you venture into partyplan is the make or break for a person.  I know a member on here (won't mention any names ok) but I KNOW she is struggling with the company she is with.  And I can only offer so much SUPPORT from my end (not even the same company let alone industry) - but I am just trying to help her so she doesn't get turned off party planning as a whole.

anadesigns replied:

YES [ExMember148] you are spot on...................it can make or break a person
GOOD ON YA for helping someone out so they dont get put off party plan

Melinda replied:

I guess I'm just soooo lucky to have one of the most supportive managers out there. She is there for all us girls 24/7 and with over 80 in her team it's a big job! I'm positive that all the other Saucy Fish girls here would agree with my comments. In the end though it does come down to the consultant being willing to put in some effort on their own, and knowing that backup is there if they need it. I am proud to be in Saucy Kath's team, she is a wonderful manager and I like to think after my 7 months in her team that she is more like a friend and mentor.

Thanks Kath, where would we be without you!

RachelSaucy replied:

Nat & Bec,

I really felt I should post here and put some postive thinking back into this post ( alot of negative air hanging around and you seem to have such a bad run I'll post some of my positiveness and good luck to balance out this thread and restore some balance :) )

Here's my story -

I'm a stay at home mam to twin boys ( they turn 2 next month :D).  As much as I love being at home with them 7 months ago I was feeling lost.  I had a very low self esteem, we'd just moved to Canberra, I had no friends and no confidence.  We didn't have extra money to go out (dinners, museum etc) and being middle of winter and having just come from Townsville I just felt depressed.

I felt bad as a mother and wife for not working and not being able to bring $$ into our home, I felt proud as a mother and wife for raising two gorgeous boys, I felt sad I had no interaction with other women   ... the list goes on really ....

So one day I decided things needed to change, I came across my absolutely, wonderful manager who presented the most amazing opportunity to me .... Since then our lives have totally changed .....

I have the most amazing manager, she has supported me from day one, I started as a Catalogue Consultant and just last night held my first Party as a PPer!!!

I definately could not have done this without the support of my manager, the other girls on our team or the owners of this company.

My manager has guided and trained me when I've needed it, she's availablle any time for her girls, she goes above and beyond what she needs to do ... she really goes that extra mile to make sure her girls are a success .... and let me tell you ... all the girls have the opportunity to be as successful as they want to be, they all get given the same treatment, our manager doesn't treat us any differently, and the company doesn't treat us any differently .... we run our businesses how we want to run them ... if we want support it's there for the taking ... as much or as little as we want ....

Since I joined I've had the highest sales for the month - out of the whole company and that's as a CC!! I've had highest sales for CC's,  I've won competitions and have some fantastic prizes to show for it - I recently made Team Leader too!!

On a personal note my husband and I have extra $$ to enjoy little luxuries - we've been out to dinner, took twins to Questacon, had DVD nights ... There is so much more positive energy around our house.  I've grown as a Mam and wife and most importantly as a woman, I have so much more confidence, I'm happier, and I'VE CREATED that with the support of my wonderful Manager and the fantastic owners of this great company ( I won't plug it here because this isn't the shameless advertising post) because I CHOSE IT!

I have met some amazing girls since joining with the company, I learn from them every day, we have a fantastic Team - each and everyone of us offers support to each other, many of us have become lifelong friends, my first party was a succuss last night because of our team spirit - the girls all rallied around and offered advice and tips/suggestions - I really would not be the person I am today if it wasn't for my wonderful Manager and team and of course the fact that I found a fantastic company to sign with.  My manager and the owners make each of us like a part of their family, they regularly recognise our achievements and reward us for it and there's no doubt in my mind that's why our company is growing and why we have such a low turn over.

Hmmm I guess I rambled a bit - in summary - I am who I am today because I chose my own success.  If I want to be successful all the training and help and support I want is there.  There's no pressure, our company is more than happy for the girls to take things at their own pace - and there is endless support, advice, training if we want it.

So, in reference to your original post .... I HAVE NOT found that as soon I signed up the person who signed me up (or anyone else for that matter) didn't want a 'rats bottom' to do with me (quite the opposite in fact), I HAVE found that there is such a thing as TEAM SPIRIT (you just have to want to be part of it), I HAVE found there is plenty I support from every direction (you just have to want it), I TOTALLY agree that no one should be expected to 'wing it' but neither should we expect everything handed to us on a silver platter,AND I MOST DEFINATELY have not found that I can't trust my manager, team or the company.

I truly believe that if things aren't going the way we want we have the power to change them, if we focus on the negativities in life that's all that's going to happen to us - attract negativity.

So on that note : I would really love to hear some other success stories and try and inject some more positive energy in this post.

Rach xx

I too have a very supportive team, and I know that as well as my manager (who would do anything to help me out, and I mean ANYTHING) there are so many girls in the team who are only too happy to help out with ideas, support etc...

I lost contact with all my friends and much of my family when I moved away from home, and live in an isolated area.  Most of my neighbours work all day, and once my husband takes the car to work in the morning, I have no way of going out or visiting anyone.  I joined my party plan company for two reasons: something to fill in the long days stuck at home and secondly to meet some new people.  I am happy to report that I have both of these now and am so happy with what I am doing.

I feel sorry for those without the wonderful support system that I and the rest of my team have, I feel like I'm a member of one big happy family.

I must admit this arvo's meeting I had MADE THINGS MORE POSITIVE & EXCITING then ever so ALL IS GREAT in the ANA DESIGNS world LOL........................Least I now have something NO-ONE else has or can get LOL

Dannielle replied:

Hi Nat

I agree with everything you said, I have been doing PP for nearly 10 years and had some fantastic managers and some shockers. I must admit, consultants who dont work, dont call, dont show up to meetings, etc can pee you off just as much. At the moment, I am the only manager with my PP company and shoulder the responsibility for the entire consultant listing, ordering process, reporting, you name it I have it. Consultants near me are really easy to train, support, etc but interstate consultants are a whole new ball game. I try to send out all the necessary paperwork and keep everyone up to date and feeling part of the team but it does get really hard when you dont get the feedback from them. I mean really, is it too hard to get 1 lousy phone call or email a week. I send out emails, weekly newsletters, etc - I am always here to help anyway I can but unless you ask I dont know ! It is not like 10 years ago when you had to call your manager, now you can sms, msn, call, email, fax, the list goes on. There really is no excuse for not contacting your manager. I even have a permanent conference call set up with Telstra but the last few times I scheduled a conference call to help consultants - I spoke to myself. No one called in.

Any new consultants are expected to go on 2 training partys if available (although most of the time there are no other consultants within range) so I have to rely on training a person on the phone, being available throughout the first few partys for them to call at any time of the day - and anyone is more than welcome to come along with me to a party or if they cant do that I will come to one of theirs.

I have promotions running all the time for consultants, whether it is for sales, bookings, party averages, etc - this month's one is just for paid in partys regardless of whether its a $300 or a $1500 party. We have monthly awards, quarterly awards, etc to help motivate and recognise acheivements

so..... Managers need as much help sometimes from their consultants as consultants need support from Managers.

We have all the information, help, support you could need BUT we need consultants to give a bit too.

I agree with Marina - you can give the tools but consultants need to work the business too, not expect it all to fall into their laps.

Ok, Ive had my whinge. I will get back to work

Dannielle

anadesigns replied:

Danielle.............I completely understand your side of it as a manager too.....IT MUST SUCK when u have consultants that dont do anything & dont put in there half of the effort & expect everythign to be handed to them on a silver platter
I do also undertand there are Managers out there that go above & beyond the call of duty for there consultants too & i can see both sides there point of you & a managers point of view
It is really sad in actual fact................I think there are too many excuses being made to stay in contact with your manager or a consultant making excuses that they dont get support etc from there manager...............I could go on forever with that LOL
we have so much more forms of communication then ever before BUT no-one seems to use it LOL
there are always some sorta excuse..............TOO BUSY...........Something came up..............etc etc etc etc.............it doesnt take much to send some1 a txt message..............leave a voice message...........send an email
I think some of us could be even more sucessful within our business's if we communicated more
Everyone needs to work in there own business & tools are provided for to make our business's successful...............I have been on both sides so i understand both points of views I have my own PP company - if i dont work i dont make money............if i dont provide tools consultants cant sell my product.............BOTH parties need to make a constant effort
I just get mad & frustrated when i see people who get to a managers level & do nuthing but be sneaky & underhanded & downright stupid & there actions make new consultants who sign up think "this is Aweful" what the hell have i got myself into & then they get a bad taste in there mouth they wont even consider joining up for anything else NO MATTER how good the company is if this makes sense
It would be nice if there was less insults.............more people supporting one another............and people getting on with the job at hand............instead of all this other nonsense
I love what i do & am proud of what product lines i have ESPECIALLY when almost my entire product line i sell is all hand made & I dont like the thought of someone not feeling comfortable joining my buisness coz some silly people out there has done something wrong & are giving the party plans biz out there a bad name & people get left with a bad taste in there mouth..................so many of us are working our tails off to make our independant business a success................ we dont deserve to have it ruined
I do appreciate ya comments Danielle I completely understand

Dannielle replied:

Thanks!

I know it gives you a whole different perspective when you see both sides of the fence.

It felt good having the whinge though. Most of my consultants are fantastic, I think I was having one of "those" days - funny how venting can make you feel so much better and put things into perspective.
