Care Package for sick friend

Hi everyone

This is not related to party plan, but I need some help.  I have a friend who is going through a really tough patch at the moment and is in and out of hospital on top of everything else she is going through.

I want to send her a care package as she's bored out of her mind as she's too far away to visit so I need suggestions on what to send.  I'm stuck at home today, so things either I might already have at home or can make, or, since I won't be posting until Monday anyway, budget things I can get for her over the weekend.

So far, I have:

*  Handmade card

* Some magazines (old, but she says she's desperate lol, thought I'd get her some current ones as well)

* Puzzle books.

Now she tires easily and has certain ailments which means she can't do any craft or things that require fine motor skills.

I am not looking to buy her anything from any PPs (sorry!) maybe for her birthday lol.

This is just a quick "thinking of you" type gift.

Any suggestions?

Hi Lauren,

Sorry to hear about your friend :(  I hope she starts to feel better soon :)

What about some notepaper and envelopes?

Or  maybe you could make some little handmade notecards so she can write to people?  You could pop a couple of postage stamps in there too - that way if she can't get to the shops someone else could post her mail for her.

You might like to inlude a notepad/journal - You could write her a letter on the first page or decorate the cover of it,

you could send her a little mini album or scrapbook with some cute sayings and pics and some photos so when she's feeling down she can look at it.

If you're feeling mega crafty this weekend - maybe you could sew her something (not sure what - maybe a rag doll, or some kind of small teddy to cheer her up, or maybe a tissue box cover - that way she'll see you're thinking of her everyday).

Anyone else got an ideas?

Ooh just thought of something else .... but you could only do this if you are sending it to her in a box ... and I'm not very creative but someone made one for me during my pregnancy ...

It was a bouquet of flowers made out of sticks (you know the kebab things) and lots of colourful tissue paper - it wasn't very big (from memory, a little bigger than my hand?) - and some of the flowers were little chocs!!  I think the tissue flowers with scrunched or maybe rolled?  I can't remember sorry - but I really liked it!

What's your friends favourite perfume? If  i have it or something similar I'll be able to put together a little pamper pack for you!

Thank you Kelly and Nat, I have sent you both PMs - you are both absolutely beautiful ladies for doing this!  Serena has been so ill for so long and is isolated from friends and family so she will appreciate it no end! Thank you both so much!

google search:  maybe some nice quotes and print these out for her into a little book.

lots of puzzles can be printed from net.

a new brush.......nothing feels nicer than having your hair brushed when you are feeling off.

some jelly beans......

chocolate...........

some samples of hand cream etc......

some playing cards........and some simple rules for games for one person (solitaire etc)

i wish there was something from my range i could help you with, but sorry, it might not be the medicine she needs at moment.

noone replied:

Thank you! I hadn't thought of playing cards (do'h!) sounds good to me lol.

And no probably not what she needs right now lol.
