It's a great idea (the eparty concept), but for those wanting to host a genuine, professional event, the current system hardly allows for that.
The host should be able to control who is able to type in things and/or when, and this would give them better control of their own eparty.
Yes/No/Maybe?

I have seen several other sites do this in the past.
Perhaps even a special page for the e-party itself.
