It doesn’t matter if you refer them to zits, pimples or blemishes; they all are the same, right?

Well not exactly. Some pimples differ in size and condition. One condition is continual scarring which is caused through larger sized pimples, surfaced onto the skin. These are caused through a build up of dirt and oils on your skin. They are most common in adolescents or teens.

Larger sized pimples bigger than a small button on a business shirt, can increase in size also due to inflammation. This is where you pop the pimple prior to the white head stage or you continue to touch or squeeze it. By touching it you are increasing the amount of dirt and oils onto your skin. By popping it, even with a white head, you are increasing the chances of it spreading.

Whether the pimple is small or large, they are very similar and can be treated with ease. Gone are the days where you had to suffer your self-esteem with pimples. As you know, pimples always tend to appear just before a big day such as a Formal, business interview or other special occasions.

So what do you do?

Well if you can’t pop or touch them, what can you do, it’s simple perform a blemish treatment regime. All you need is a great product that suits to your skin.

There are a plethora of products out there, each are made from various ingredients.

These ingredients are suitable for most skin types, but some not so. Benzyl pryoxide for instance is a no no for dry or sensitive skin, as in a long-term affect it causes the skin to become flaky.

Therefore, you might want to take a look at our recent topic, which skin type are you?

After realising the ingredients and suitable product, make sure it is effective. It’s always positive to find a product with value, a money back guarantee and even better a certification for its effectiveness and ingredients.
Ensuring the product is safe is imperative. Beware of certifications not endorsed by evidence such as percentages, information on the study or by which organisation it was performed by.

Organisations may differ in size or structure e.g. Dermatest is a worldwide cosmetic testing and research company working with many companies worldwide.

But of course spot cream will not always work for you, as you also need to cleanse and moisturise daily to enjoy beautiful skin. And even if you don’t believe it, water is a great concept as well!

However, what about fast acting remedies from the home. We have found a good one, that might just work for you, but at the same time probably make you cold in the process. Since, it’s almost summer, it might just work for you.
Simply apply ice on the area for a few hours, the inflammation should then die down.

In the meantime, keep doing your regime and even apply a concealer!
Lastly, if the pimple is cystic i.e. very painful when touched, you may need to see a dermatologist.

Happy skin care browsing everyone!
