Who are all the Amway people out there? I have been in for about a year now. Don't do a lot of business building as I concentrate more on my candles, but it is a great business just for saving money. I love all the products and the fact I have to spend so much LESS time in the supermarket is FANTASTIC!! I have had about 10+ people placed under me (one of whom I sponsored) so am making a nice little return too.) I wish someone had introduced me to it years ago!!

  Hi Karen

I too am from Amway, I just love the business and of course love all the products as do my customers.

I have been happily with them for the last 8 years and would never stray anywhere else.  i just wish they had candles too as I would build that as well.

Great to know someone else who loves it too!

cheers

Hi,

I started with Amway a few months ago. As yet I have not had much time to devote to it but am aiming to have 5/10 people under me by the end of the year. I love their cleaning products and the fact that the items get delivered straight to my door!

Cheers,
Nikki

candlekaren replied:

I've been with them for just over a year now and I have had 10 people placed under me by my upline!! It's fantastic! My husband and I sat down and did our budget a couple of weeks ago and we worked out we are saving around $200 - $300 a month simply by shopping through Amway. You have to make the most of it though - we switched just about everything to Amway and the best part is it's all fantastic stuff. That's not including the money I save on skincare, vitamins, and also having access to jewellery, homewares, electrical, etc, etc!! I know my business is slowly building in the background without me doing anything so I can always pick it up later on if I want a change! It seems to have such a stigma but I think it's fantastic and I'm so glad I was introduced to it.

Hi there

I was wondering if there is anyone doing Amway in Brisbane area as I want to purchase some products ... I was with them over 1.5yr ago

I would love to sign up just to buy the products! They are awesome we still have some from that long ago ... The cleaning products last forever! Cheaper shopping bill thats for sure!

candlekaren replied:

Hi There - I've sent you a PM.

Karen

candlekaren replied:

Just a quick one to let you know I now have 20 people under me and just received my monthly check of $127. I did NOTHING for any of that except shop for my own personal products. It really is a no brainer!! Please PM me if you would like any info - happy to share the love!!!

Is there a site with all the prices, it'd be interesting to check out the prices now since I was a member.
Jean

candlekaren replied:

Hi Jean,

I have a fantastic upline who offer as much or as little support as you want or need. I am only in Amway as a personal shopper, so I am not really out there trying to build the business - it's just really growing slowly in the background!! I just let people know who are interested how it works and if they are interested I am more than happy to sign them up. The best place to look is http://www.a2k.com.au. You can see the whole range of products available. The prices however will be retail prices, not what you pay as a member or IBO. There isn't really anywhere you can see those online unless an IBO shows you on there own personal website. I also have a catalogue which has the prices in, but only my own copy - it's a huge big book, like a Women's Weekly size. Are you anywhere near Brisbane? I'm happy to meet you and show you it all and answer any questions - that goes for anyone else too! Just let me know.

Karen

jeanh59 replied:

Hi Karen, thanks for that, I'm actually down in Melbourne, so a bit too far away to meet up!  I'm now looking through your site, gee they do so much more now than when I was a member.. I was only a personal shopper too... What is the discount for personal shoppers?

Jean.

candlekaren replied:

Hi Jean,

The discount is the same whether you are just a personal shopper or you are building the business - and you can change at any time! The discount just depends on the products themselves. All of the Amway products are much more discounted than the non-Amway products. For example, all of the vitamins and supplements, the XS Energy range, the Artistry skincare & makeup range, the E. Funkhouser makeup range, the Emma Page jewellery range, all your cleaning products, and personal care products like shampoo, etc, are all Amway products and the discounts are usually between about 20 and 30%. Things like your giftware items and grocery items (that are not Amway products) are already offered at a discount rate so aren't usually reduced any further. If you are interested, please let me know and I can send you down some more info about the costs of joining, etc, and how it works. I can probably get someone in your area to come and have a chat to you too - your choice! Just let me know if you want to go any further. Talk to you soon!

My Hubby and I had an Amway Network 21 biz about 5 years ago, but for the opposite reasons, we stopped.
Meetings, gatherings, info nights etc. was a bit too full on and left no time for anything else!
I found the cleaning product GREAT but now use Enjo!! I am sooo happy my costs have now dropped to $20 a year!! Not bad and my house has never been sooo clean!
I do love the emma page too I am hoping to have a party soon with another member. I am really happy with my PP now and have been with them for 11 years all up.
I can also have a great passive income just by working my PP without all the meetings, calls, and having to go to training sessions every week!!
Amway is great but a bit too much hard work for me I get all the same returns doing only my PP and find it much more cost and time effective.

Actually,

One of my early business inspirations was from an Amway rep (Back about 1994)

His name was Trevor Chatham (a diamond member). His son went to my school here on the Sunshine Coast Australia. He gave myself and and about 10 other classmates a motivation talk, and then took us out sailing the next day on one of his cool yachts. It was awesome. Had me thinking 'this is what I want'.

He had the canal front home, sports cars etc. Awsome seperate building with a gym. Really got me to set my goals right. (eg I purchased my first property, a unit in Northgate Brisbane, aged 19)

I googled him just before this making this post and was suprised to find out he is/was being sued for defamation by Amway (for saying new members cant succeed). Has been divorced, married to a hottie, divorced again.. Interesting stuff if you want a read...

Regardless, he still inspired me in my youth!  I suppose I can even learn from his mistakes too?

Lilygirl_wytch replied:

It's great to chat to others who have been with Amway or are bulding their biz.  I meet people all the time who are doing something, and yes totally agree with you all, it does depend on your upline and the type of support you receive.

I've found in the past, that there are all types of people out there in all types of businesses who don't care about you they just care about the bottom line.  AND I MEAN ALL Businesses, not just amway.

I think if you aren't happy with someone or the support you are receiving, go find it for yourself, after all we are all in charge of our own destiny, not someone elses.

Do you know what I mean?

I am lucky I suppose and my upline have been very supportive in my studies with beauty, makeup etc through a college and also while my husband is away playing soldier.

I just love the products, and Emma Page, my parties are pretty even now between pampering and Emma Page parties, so am very happy that I have a range of choices in my business.

HandsOn replied:

to be completely honest, i have never even really heard about amway products. i knew they existing, but never knew what they did.

Is it much like an avon style shopping - catalogues, or online... ie: how do sales get processed etc?

not interested in joining, but may be interested in looking at the range and making a purchase!!

candlekaren replied:

Not sure how avon works, but with Amway you can just register as a shopper under an Amway rep, then you can just shop online yourself and get it all delivered to you without joining. Of course you do pay retail then!! You can then decide to join at a later date if you want to - if you find you are using their products alot, etc. Or, you can just purchase through an Amway rep directly - your choice. If you want more info just let me know - happy to point you in the right direction.

I belong in the chain but at the moment I'm invisible lol.

I signed up a friend whos now my bf and paid and he paid to join but he never came up underneath me which sucks... :( Still don't know why?

I joined up because I thought at least when I buy something I have the possibility of getting a return whereas at a normal supermarket I don't get that option.

I think I might stop being invisible now and start looking at it again?

chocgirl replied:

Amway is not really much like Avon.  My man & I have been in Amway for quite a few years.  We do have a couple of customers, but we mostly are in it to use the products ourselves.

The thing I can't stand is when people join and don't openly tell you it's Amway.  I knew someone who joined and just decided to concentrate on the Emma Page Jewellery.  Of course they rang me (as you do when you start a business) to tell me about their great Emma Page business, but wouldn't admit it was Amway.  I didn't want to be rude or anything so was just polite and said "no thanks" - the next thing their upline was calling me to join up - and he didn't even admit it was Amway.  At that point I was very annoyed with the "secretiveness" and told him that I knew it was Amway and that I was already an IBO under a certain (more reputable) Diamond IBO.  I think it's people like that who give Amway a bad name.

The products are good though :-)

I would like some information sent to me please.    I was with Amway back in the early 1990's but when i moved i quit.

Snazza replied:

I can recall many many moons ago when a friend of mine called up my hubby and I to say he had started in a great new business and wanted to have the opportunity to share it with us. We asked what it was and he wouldnt answer...we didnt want to be rude but we began to suspect it was Amway as we had heard people saying it was very cloak and dagger.....anyway we agreed to him coming over to show us his new business....he didnt mention he was bringing TWO friends...that rolled up complete with white board and set up in our lounge room to explain how the business could work for us....my hubby at the time said Is this AMWAY?? And the guy looked at him and said welll err yes it is.....and proceeded to rant and rave about it....funny thing was although we were annoyed at being kept in the dark we signed up. Yes the products were great. I can recall the dish drops in particular and the cleaners were great. I didnt stick with it long as it just wasnt for me. As at THAT time. The mere mention of the word Amway would give most people the shivers and i think its mainly because they simply couldnt in alot of cases be up front and proud to say YEP I am with AMWAY!! Never did understand all the secrecy back then.

Snazza

JanesHandmadeGifts replied:

Yes, i couldnt understand the secrecy behind it either.

I do remember back in early 1992 2 people came to my home and tried to talk us into joining with this pyramid company and back then i had never heard of Amway and after a 45 minute session, we decided not to join up.

But i think it was later on in 1994 i had a taxi ride with a taxi driver and he was in Amway and he was a nice man and upfront he told me it was Amway and no secrecy at all.  I joined up  under him just to buy products for myself.

Lilygirl_wytch replied:

Times have certainly changed and as the saying goes, 'Hold your head high'.

I too have been in Amway previously and saw how the person showed the business, didn't like it and didn't like the person.

However years later, I was invited to look at an opportunity to make money, and so I looked.  The best thing about it was when I asked ' is this Amway' the guy said YES! absolutely.  I respected him for that straight away.

I love the products, and love the service, bonuses etc.  Basically I love everything about AMWAY.

What I don't like are ( LIKE ALL THOSE BUSINESSES OUT THERE - SO LETS NOT GET HYPOCRITICAL HERE)

is rotten apples who do the wrong thing and give it a bad name.  It's not the businesses that give it a bad name,  its the rotten consultants usually.

All I can say is if the person you are speaking to is up front and honest about what it is - when you ask them- then they're a good cookie.

I know plenty of other MLM businesses who have had a bad rap due to rotten consultants or misinformed training given and  are therefor seen as devious and liars, and yet they never get a mention on places like this - pity.

Have a great day

Hi there,

I was turned off Amway, mainly because a friend contacted me out of the blue after not making an effort to keep in contact, and said he had a business idea.  I invited him over and he was almost preaching to me, and didn't tell me the company until right at the end.  We were interested a little bit, but he told me that they had meetings that you had to pay to attend.  He also pretty much said that you had to do alot of work to even start earning any money.  It all seemed a bit secretive, and I was unsure about what I would actually receive when I joined, as it seemed like there were extra costs involved, like courses, meetings etc.

It was funny because I spoke to some mutual friends of ours, and they all said he rang them too.  Hence to say we didn't join, and we haven't heard from this "friend" since.

That was just my experience.  I felt it seemed too difficult to start, and I didn't want to contact my friends and try and get them to join either, as they would probably stop talking to me, like everyone has done to this poor bloke.

I also had a recent phone call from a random person on behalf on a student who I mentored back in around 2004, asking if I was interested in a business idea.  I have no idea how they still had my phone number, but it seemed like you really had to dredge up the past to find ppl interested.

I had a similar thing with ACN (a telecommunications thing), where a random person phoned on behalf of a friend asking if I was interested in business.  I went along to a seminar and the guy up the front was really wealthy (obviously one of the owners), saying everyone can be this rich.  There were actually people doing the whole "yeah", and "mm thats right".. thing around us.  We ran!!!!!

But anyway, good luck to those who find it to be successful.  It looks like it would be really awesome if you had the time and friend network who wouldn't disown you if you tried to recruit them, and if you had a supportive upline.  Emma Page is lovely stuff too!

I totally understand why you wouldn't have been interested.

The reason why people don't actually come out and say "It's Amway" is because it's not.

Let me explain, Amway is only one of many companies involved with the Amway on-line website. Emma Page (a pp company), for example is not owned by Amway. It is a seperate company that made a decision nearly 10 or so years ago, to exclusively market their designer jewellery with Amway Australia. We also have companies such as Harvey Norman, Optus Communications, Real Insurance, Office Max and many more. To simply say it's Amway, is untrue. Yes Amway controls the website etc but it's more like a co-operative between companies than anything.

If you just mention, "It's Amway", people just think of soap, cleaning products etc, when it's sooooo much more.

In saying this, there isn't any excuse for people being misleading or lying if this has been the case

I hope this explains things.

Guy.

I think Amway is a "scary" word because of the way people are generally approached! The products are fantastic, I can sure say that.

How about looking into a business that is "out in the open" no secrets and soooo much fun! I  found it whilst on a recent trip overseas. If you want to know more, check out my website below and let me know what you think!!  I know you will be pleasantly surprised, imagine if you had a chance now to be part of a company that is growing faster than twitter.
